After his conversation with Pinneus a few things troubled Perseus:
· Could there be more to life than simply sharing paradise with the most beautiful woman in the galaxy?
· Was it ethical that the few Pilgrim Mothers and Fathers lived in a land of plenty while the rest of mankind had virtually nothing?
· What effect would be had on this planet's natives if mankind were allowed to exploit their gentle unselfishness?
But the Pilgrim Mothers and Fathers were determined to do all they could to help the griffoids prevent the developers from turning their home into a huge quarry.
“We'll teach them how to make plackards,” said one Pilgrim
.
“And how to sing songs of defiance,” said another.
This was the beginning of a prolonged stand-off: Phineus' miners on one side and the griffoids, supported by a few stubborn Pilgrims on the other.

What they mean is: "THERE IS NO PLANET C"
